November 21, 2023 - Absolutely delicious BDX style wine. Letting this one sit in the bottle for a hot second definitely helped it along. Nice red fruits, especially raspberries with soft tannins and reasonable spice. Fantastic value that only got better with time

November 9, 2020 - A really good blend that could go with a variety of foods. Could wait a little more to balance it out or let it breath for an hour or two.

September 8, 2020 - Red plums and spices when first opened. Very Bordeaux like, but only medium light in body. I was hoping for a bigger bodied wine. The wine is correct, but just not my style I enjoy.

February 7, 2020 - A solid BDX style wine. This guy does need air time but it evolves into an easy to enjoy wine.

PnP with a typical dark color and nose somewhat muted but displays red fruits, leather and oak. Initial attack was pretty closed with red fruits, oak spices and a smooth finish.

This sat in the glass for a while and it opened up rather nicely. Multiple layers of red fruits, chocolate, leather and oak spices. The longer this sat the better it became. This is a second label and nicely priced wine that delivers with patience.

    Cheers

January 27, 2020 - I was sadly underwhelmed. I had this in a restaurant and LOVED it so went to winery and bought some. I’ve sat on this for almost 2 years awaiting a special occasion...and damn. It was ok, but not amazing.

(Board Track Racer (Mark Ryan) The Chief Cabernet Sauvignon) Hello friends. We have access today to a limited parcel of one of Washington’s top Cabernets:The Board Track Racer label has been a great success for Mark Ryan, combining unused juice from the main label with purchased fruit when required. Two important notes for the 2016. First, this vintage has a high enough proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon (90%, the remainder Merlot and Malbec) that it can be labeled as such. Second, no purchased fruit was required here: the Cabernet is all Mark Ryan barrels, and mostly from younger vines at two important vineyard sources for the winery: Phinny Hill in the Horse Heaven Hills, and Quintessence on Red Mountain. It clocks in at 14.5% listed alc and begins with a nose of blackberry and high-cacao chocolate, complicated by persistent notes of graphite (thank you Phinny) and fresh minty topnotes. It’s a wow palate for the price, fanning out and saturating the mouth with Cabernet goodness. You really sense the Horse Heaven Hills influence here, both in the ongoing graphitic minerality, and in the robust (and well-managed) tannins, offering a finishing lick of earl grey tea. I’d happily drink a few of these while waiting for my Lonely Hearts to soften up.
