February 10, 2022 - A couple years since my previous bottle. Many nice qualities - tons of dry extract, smoky golden fruit, quite mineral, and a bit waxy textured. It's starting to show a bit of oxidative notes (and not in a majestic/generous Krug/Bollinger fashion), and a bit of phenolic bitterness that seems out of sync with the rest of the profile. Still enjoyable.

October 31, 2020 - Nice, fine bubbles. A little yeasty on the palate. A slightly "off" finish as the temperature in the glass came up. I'd serve this ice cold next time.

December 28, 2019 - Effusively bubbly upon opening with large, coarse bubbles, which have largely given up all the gas after an hour in glass, leaving what seems like a reasonably tasty, lightly pet-nat CA Chardonnay. Smoky ripe, golden-fruited (similar to Copain Brosseau), honeycomb, with good tension and cut, and a dry, mineral finish. If you don’t try to evaluate it by champagne standards, it’s pretty tasty in its own right.
