March 7, 2021 - This biodynamically farmed Montepulciano has yet to reach its preferred window, for my palate, anyway. A vg representation of the variety and place, this is a highly structure wine that needs another 3-5 years before it begins its best days. Again, for my preferences. Some nice, tangy savory resonates on a background of rich soil. . After destemming, it's fermented spontaneously; there's no temp control, in concrete tank. Macerations for 2-3 weeks, while the fermentation goes on for up to 2 months. The wine is aged in botti for ~ 18 months; bottled without fining or filtering or additional SO2. At its apogee, this should be highly recommended

July 25, 2019 - Took several hours to open up. After 2+ hours of decant, the nose showed hints of dried purple fruit, flinty notes, spice and granite. The palate follows with granitic qualities, mouth-coating tannins.
