June 17, 2019 - Enjoyable over a couple of nights, this shows the warmth of the vintage. Not sure I'd have picked it as a Burgundy Chardonnay, but even though it was ripe and full, it retained enough composure to drink well and sub-$15 beats nearly all U.S. renditions in the sub-$20 category. It had an interesting, intense nose, maybe beeswax and baked apple? The other two CT notes below capture it well.

Not sure where this wine is going. I mostly think this is a Drink Up, but a part of me wonders if it doesn't have a sneaky white Rhone-like ability to develop interesting secondary notes after 5+ years?

[Edit: Note that an '86' from me is not damning. That is just within the "Very Good" point range based on CT's suggested scoring system, which I use irrespective of price, expectations, or producer prestige.]

November 17, 2018 - Consumed warming from fridge temp to cool room temp. Mild apple/melon rind fruit, a hint of lemon, creamy/waxy texture, some nice minerality. Not very exciting, but seems like it would have been a nice complement to shellfish.
