July 12, 2006 - Vieux Telegraphe Dinner with Henri Brunier's daughter Catherine (Backstreet Wine Salon, Phoenix): This is a special cuvee that the Brunier’s make for friends and family only in good years. These wines offer them the ability to experiment with new techniques and styles without affecting the character of the La Crau wines. 40% Clairette, 30% Grenache Blanc, 15% Bourboulenc and 15% Rousanne. I found this wine to be much richer in style with noticeable oak (atypical). 50% was aged in 2-4 year old barrels with other 50% in tank. Beautiful, rich tropical fruit with an oily character like an older German Riesling. What a treat!
