December 5, 2015 - Eleventh Annual White Truffle Dinner (Chez Weber - Chicago IL): Popped and poured. Ripe and lush with great concentration. moderate spice, great structure. Best when first poured, this starting losing some intensity as slight oxidative hints emerged after 30 minutes.

November 22, 2014 - Tenth Annual White Truffle Dinner (Chez Weber - Chicago IL): From the same case as another bottle tasted earlier this year, but tonight's bottle was sensational. Ripe character throughout, fresher than I'd expect at its age. Very good power with wonderful combination of fresh fruit and spice and earthy evolution.

Concentrated lingering fruit came through in the middle and end, but never really persisted. One person thought it corked, then a few agreed, but I just think it was earthy and mushroomy and less charming that older Raveneau can be.

February 24, 2006 - Vertical: François Raveneau Montée de Tonnerre 1983-2001; 2/22/2006-2/24/2006: Group 2nd Place. My 1st. exceptionally light in color. Layers of lemon zest, Lemon meringue. Definitly young but very balanced. The best of the first trio above and the best for me of the night.
