March 28, 2024 - Medium acid and tannin. A pretty ripe wine. Dark cherries smothered in plum sauce. A slight chocolate note pokes through and some spice on the tail end. The alcohol shows itself just a tad, as well. A little thin and the finish is shorter than I was expecting.

Day 2 brought out some nice earth notes on the finish. Something I am always looking for in my Bordeaux.

Overall, the wine is pretty well made and in balance...it just isn't my favorite style. This is drinking just fine on a pnp, but I don't see this making old bones. Drink now - 2029. 87 points.

August 30, 2023 - An exploration of Bordeaux - 2016 vintage (Le Pont, Milsons Point): Slightly funky and farty plummy fruit, sweet spice, slightly spirituous alcohol prickle, polished oak. There is, with time and agitation, a little red berry red plum freshness. In the mouth it's plummy and a little porty, ripe, rich, woody tannins are integrated offering a slightly "stavey" grip. Finishes a little hard and bitter. Meh

December 12, 2022 - (at Perry’s Steakhouse - Schaumburg). Fine - that’s what really comes to mind. Not a British fine (aka great) but an American fine. There’s nothing wrong, but nothing all that special. There is plummy red fruit and a bit of earth. Light body that could use a bit more umph. Clean finish. Proper but not exciting. (87)
