Community Tasting Notes 6

October 20, 2011 - Lighter in body than the last bottle, but with good acidity and a bight strawberry smarties flavor. That kinda sums it up. Still not bad for $6, but not the screaming deal the last bottle was.

September 6, 2011 - Agree with Bradbobaggins' opinion - a good cheap wine from Grocery Outlet (if you can find)

    My notes....

Nose: Somewhat faint with raspberry, blackberry and sweet tobacco

Taste: Blackberry, black tea, huckleberry - chewy and dry mouthfeel

Finish: Medium length and dry with predominately burnt orange undertones

I'm not usually one to give numbers, but I would give this a solid 89 considering both price ($6) and overall quality.

August 19, 2011 - If you see this at grocery outlet, BUY! Not a stunner, but an 88-89 pt wine with good earthy character, good balance, and some fruit as well. You can't do better for 6 dollars, or really, 10 or 12. Still has a few years of a curve left to it too, really nice stuff.

October 8, 2008 - Cherry, both in nose and mouth. A little earthy, but not overly complicated.

April 2, 2008 - sfwine: Cru Beaujolais (San Francisco): Nose of ripe purple berries, caramelized banana, rock dust. Nice juicy cherry and strawberry fruit on the palate, with chalky, lightly astringent tannins and short to medium length. Nice, although it does gesture toward the banana-yeast style. Leftovers held well overnight, adding weight and structure.
