Community Tasting Notes 10

October 7, 2021 - Fifteen months and a great food pairing positively changed my perception of this wine. The Chilean Sea Bass casserole with brown rice and broccoli, covered in a Queso cheese sauce definitely enhanced what I had originally noted as a wine with a thin mouthfeel. Freshness from the minimal and judicious use of neutral oak, medium acidity, earth driven minerality, and tart citrus with ripe tree fruits complimented the food. No rush on drinking this, I think it’s got another 3-5 years of longevity, but highly recommended enjoying with food.

January 28, 2021 - Pear flower on the nose and initial palate evolving into grapefruit on the mid palate and finish. Nice take on Chardonnay without all the fru fru oaky vanilla tropical fruit notes that seem to be all the California rage these days.

January 7, 2021 - It was fine but nothing impressive. Wouldn’t buy again.

December 24, 2020 - Drank from magnum, no colors noted.
Aromas of crystalline minerality with apple and pear.
Medium body, refreshing. Apple and pear flavor. Mineral character. It's a pretty darn good wine and it was a favorite of the evening. Has structure and refinement. I think it improved through the evening and plan to drink the remaining bottles I have over the next year or two. No big rush, but not really waiting for much more to evolve.

October 12, 2020 - Great QPR (via Garagiste) but otherwise nothing super special. Middle of the road Oregon Chardonnay (which is to say between California's fleshy oaky sweet-ish style and something much leaner and more mineral focused that one might find from France).
