  April 15, 2021 - Dark red color, nose of cassis, black cherry, very fruit forward nose. Flavors of cassis, blackberry, raspberry and black cherry. Is slightly tannic, don't know how this would age but it's a very full bodied California red. Was worried flavors would be jammy based on nose but they weren't too over the top. Nice, and based on the price this is great to scratch that fruit forward California itch.

  April 23, 2020 - Good stuff, but the tannins remained pretty drying over a couple of nights of drinking, so I'd make this a food wine for now. (Uncertain on future resolution of the tannins, but could be worth holding for another year or two to see if they soften.)

  March 1, 2020 - Cloudy wine. Lacked a fruity pop that I've grown to expect in Dolcetto. Gave it an hour and still failed to dazzle.

  February 28, 2020 - Pizza Night/New California Wines; 2/28/2020-3/28/2020 (Casa Shikoh): plum, black cherry, violets, allspice; light to medium body, juicy, good acidity, dry tannins provide pleasant texture, only 11.5% ABV; sourced from Fox Hill Vineyard in Mendocino County

  January 31, 2019 - The other reviews indicate this is exactly what it was aiming to be - a domestic version of a notoriously tannic but light-bodied wine.
