March 9, 2024 - We decanted this 2001 with various tasting notes every 15-20 minutes until the 1:30 mark when we poured and enjoyed. The acidity fell off a bit as it decanted and more floral notes came through on the top of the glass but not too much change overall. This wine is definitely mature and ready to drink now. I would not expect much improvement, if any at all by more time in your cellar. Drink now!

TN: Ruby, garnet color with red tint in the glass. The nose had red and dried fruits toward the bottom of the glass with slight herbal notes toward the top. As the wine continued to breathe in the decanter the herbal notes evolved into more defined floral notes. Medium acidity, low alcohol, full body and a slight grip on its short-medium finish. Rather simple, not too complex profile. Sour cherry, raspberry, graphite.

Overall, great easy drinker that my wife and I both enjoyed. Rather simple but elegant. Not overpowering. A great wine just lacking some complexity to get out of the 90-92 range.

February 14, 2024 - Medium+ nose intensity with notes of charr wood, toast, black fruits, spices. Medium acidity and medium+ tannin. Drink up. Will not improve. Decanting 2 hours ahead.

November 5, 2023 - Drinking beautifully, so much better than the 2000. Classic Pauillac aromas, a classic dollop of blackcurrant, then a very long, creamy finish with soft red and dark berry flavours. Delicious. Just lacking that smidgen of intensity and power to propel it into the Premier League. No hurry but it won't get any better.

At release it was a paltry 19€, then the bubble came along and it rose to 100€, now it’s back down to 55€, which in view of the quality is a very fair price.
