December 13, 2023 - At the top of its game, this is firing on all cylinders. The nose is a glorious fruit bomb with deep winegum aromas of cherry and liquorice, and in isolation would merit a score in the high 90s. There is a lovely mouthfeel on the palate with good balance and depth. You do get the feeling that the finish is still in evolvement.

June 28, 2021 - Ripe and hedonistic attack, all-singing, all-dancing on the palate, but not over-extracted. Consistent with the way Francois Mitjavile has been making wines in this style for decades, before Parker became influential. These wines are absolutely marvellous if you drink them occasionally, as I do. It is very ripe but not over the top and hugely pleasurable wine, if not the last word in complexity. As ever, market pricing is about right, preventing me from being able to afford anything but the occasional encounter.

June 28, 2021 - Gareth's Bordeaux Dinner - Hawksmoor Guildhall (Hawksmoor, Guildhall, London): Nose is quite exotic with ripe plum, vanilla, touch of coffee. Quite sweet. Medium bodied, plummy, touch of soil, balanced acidity, touch tannic on the finish.

April 18, 2021 - Sweet and fruity. Lovely. Perhaps less body than some of the bottles, but a super wine. Keep...? I think it is certainly at its best now on this showing.

November 12, 2020 - Wine Night #2 Commanderie @ GWC!: Black fruits, red fruits, licorice. Expressive and lush. Can't remember if I had guessed this to be a Spanish. Not bad and good for many years ahead.
