April 7, 2024 - Deep garnet with slightly tawny rim. Dried red plum, black cherry, bell pepper, liquorice, vanilla and cedar. Lots of savoury tertiary notes of leather, cigar box, dried fruits and mushroom. Drinking nicely

January 26, 2024 - Decanted and tasted over two hours.

Initial nose was mediocre and unpleasant, like mud and canned peaches. But tasted much better than it smelled.

Over the next two hours, the nose mellowed and notes of stewed cherries and mushroom came to the front.

I still maintain the taste is better than the nose. Notes of white nectarine and mushroom.

This has aged well. Fantastic QPR at $50.

January 24, 2024 - This time I had lots of time and drank two full glasses of this wine. Deep color, full body, smooth tannins. Soft mouth feel, lots of earthy flavors - mushroom, etc. Light berries throughout. Finish was long and nice!
Very good wine - amazing how well it is after 23 years.

December 26, 2023 - Fading fruit and secondary happenings puts this wine in the "drink it now" camp for me. While this is fun, there's nothing that is going to bring me back or take me out to find more. A great cellar defender for a Bordeaux tasting! DRINK

December 2, 2023 - Color is still really good. I felt it got better after it was open for 15 minutes. This was earthy, dank, mushroom and sage flavors. I thought delicious.
