June 13, 2022 - Brought this to Bedrock Bar and Grill for lunch with a very close ex-colleague to celebrate her birthday.
We had pita bread, fresh oysters, jamon (ham), steak with sauteed mushrooms and mac and cheese.
Decanted for 1.5 hours before drinking. Beautiful floral notes on the nose. On the palate rich, ripe plums, black berries, dark chocolate, eucalyptus, and silky texture.
Smooth, generous and charming. A solid Chris Ringland that is outstanding and impressive. A wonderful wine that paired very well with the steak. Wished there are more bottles of this wine in the cellar. -

October 3, 2021 - Nose: nice restrained sweet plum - ripe shiraz
Palate: 90% dark chocolate. tannin are very smooth. dark fruit is there, but seems a bit much on cocoa, rather than fruit. feel not integrated well yet.
2nd day - feels more balance and it's like dark chocolate 75-80% with some mint.
beautiful nose. -

June 7, 2020 - Drinking better than 2 years ago. The alcohol is integrated. Low tannins, quite sweet, huge fruit and rich.

May 6, 2018 - Over ripe. Awkward alcohol. Not particularly keen on a second glass. If it didn't say CR and you had it in a pub what what you think? Definitely Not great.

March 10, 2018 - This really needs several more years at least for the alcohol to integrate. 5 hours after letting it breath it was getting there but still had a way to go in vaporizing all that alcohol which feels much bigger than the stated 15%
Hugely ripe. Very broad though the acidity somewhat keeps that in check. Reminds me of the recent Powell Shiraz in that, well obviously they're both incredible producers, but I did feel the recent year or so in vintage is feeling more Rhone than Aus in some way with that more meaty gameyness that you typically don't get (thankfully) in Aussie Shiraz that now seems to have crept in. That said it's not entirely obvious that izlsnt principally a product of It's youth and thankfully I have a few more bottles to wait and see over time.
