August 8, 2020 - Out of a magnum. Stunning, hay color, deep nose, palate thickness, long finish.

May 28, 2013 - This was a similarly pristine bottle that went through the same phases as my last bottle.

Overall, I didn't notice the alcohol quite as much this time. The oak was there but not terrible (I am sensitive to this). Again, after 5 hours of full-on air, this wine came alive and showed some attractive mid-palate richness and flavor interest.

This will certainly age for quite a while and it appears it may even get better. If you open it now, I suggest substantial air time.

May 9, 2013 - Delicious from magnum at Etch in Nashville. Clean color and just what we needed after driving 8 hrs.

April 6, 2013 - Remarkably fresh with lively pear and pear skin notes. Undertones of almond and wood spices. On the palate, very rich but precise at the same time with nicely focused acidity. Crushed rocks and minerals really stain the palate and provide a sense of weight. This is tasting well now!

March 30, 2013 - From a pristine bottle, this wine had a bright yellow center and clear rims. The medium intensity nose showed pear, lemon, vanilla, and a hint of marzipan.

This went through several stages during the first 3 hours of air. Sometimes the wine seemed overly rich and heavy, other times it seem too brisk. After three hours, it was quite rich and ripe with firm acidity and good length. Unfortunately, I also found the alcohol a bit high and the wood a touch aggressive.

Then, suddenly, after the fourth hour these components largely melded in and the overall balance improved! It will be interesting to see where this goes with age.
