September 12, 2020 - Prune, pencil led, hot asphalt, hints of fennel seeds. Round with silky tannin and a fresh acidity. On the palate the fruit is a bit cooked; black cherry and prune are upfront, but the finish is lively with dried herbs and licorice root and some dust.

June 23, 2018 - Tasted double-blind. Bold, compact, and precise. Quite juicy and pithy, with peat bog and red dust also featured throughout, along with great acid. Knew it was Italy, and settled on a Tuscan Merlot blend on account of the saturated juiciness, and the dusty rather than gritty or grainy tannins. Likely to pair with a range of food. It might improve after a few years' cellaring. 90-91.
