June 15, 2021 - This wine got better and better with age. Dranky last two bottles at +5 years from release and I think it was at its peak. The oakiness was fully integrated, giving it a rounded butteriness. Still some smacking acidity, and notes of almond, lemon and melon. It was a real crowd pleaser as well. Give how much I paid for them, I think they were well worth it, but if I buy again, I will wait 4 years before drinking.

    EXCELLENT!

February 8, 2020 - The oakiness has integrated more now and this feels like it is drinking as it was intended (it was like an oak bomb a year ago). As the vanilla of the oak is no longer to the fore, one notices more the strong bead of acidity running through this wine. It's quite nice, but is not my favourite expression of Viré-Clessé. Weirdly, I'd much prefer a more stoney and austere Chablis or else something a bit more lucious and fruit driven even . Here we have something in between which maybe misses the mark. I still have a bunch more, so we'll see how it develops!

March 16, 2019 - From memory. Full on the nose and palate. Quite oaky but also good fruit and a nicely judged acidity. I quite liked it, but the oak does tire after a while. Best I think as an aperitif, and maybe even with an ice cube!
