August 13, 2023 - Nose: earthy cassis and hint of ripe blackberry, bay leaf with an additional herbal edge. Palate: Musty earth that has a hard to place aged flavor to it, sharp cranberry that mellows with time in the glass and grows to ripe blackberry with good acidity; firm tannins that lie nicely between heavy handed and fine grained. On day two the fruit flavors are more subdued and a faint old cedar/cigar box flavor becomes apparent. A nice wine that improved with time and likely has many years left.

January 4, 2021 - Nose: tobacco and dark fruit. Palate: drying tannins and well balanced acid. Still has many years left. Fruit is blackcurrants and dark plums. Very earthy and delicious.

November 5, 2020 - Medium purple color. Plum, cherry, mushroom, cedar and baking spice on the nose. Lean dark fruit, quickly washed out by the aggressive chalky tannins.

October 29, 2020 - Over-extracted, disjointed, heavily oaked. Felt very new world - definite disappointment despite the inexpensive price.
