June 4, 2023 - Aromas of blackberry, gamey meat and spice. Black fruit, gamey meat, dried herbs and fine tannins on the palate. A very long, elegant finish. Full bodied. A good QPR for the quality. Served with grilled marinated tuna steak.

December 29, 2022 - First, and most importantly, give it two hours at least. At one hour, it’s nice but somewhat shy. With air, there’s loads of complexity: dusty minerals and tobacco spices, cherry and currant, cedar smoke, floral notes from the nose through the finish. Lovely and at prime drinking now and for ten years yet.

November 13, 2022 - The 2016 JB syrah is really singing at this stage. Very plush and supple but with noticeable dusty tannins on the finish. Dense dark blueberry/blackberry fruit. Not sure this will get much better.

April 20, 2022 - Outstanding wine! Decanted 2 hours and then followed over 3 days. Day 2 was showing the best, but still hanging in there on day 3. Flavors of blackberry and huckleberry fruit, leather, cracked pepper, grilled meat and licorice. Really glad I have another bottle, but wish this wasn't so allocated (I want more!) Drink now with air - 2031.
