September 15, 2008 - Fall Bachanalia (Green Dolphin St, Chicago IL): nose: wonderful lifting floral tones provide the focus of this with tones of truffles, earth, cinnamon, and herbs backing it all up with sheer elegance that is just a pure pleasure to smell
taste: very big tannins and acidity that shows how young this traditional producer is, but with lush tones of purple florals, tar, cinnamon, truffles, and some herbal tones poking through on the back end
overall: a very beautiful and elegant barolo. This is why I love the traditional producers as there is just this regalness about them that just oozes class. Tastefully refined attack of purple floral tones and a silky finish of cinnamon giving us a look at where this wine will be headed once its fully ready -

August 24, 2008 - Excellent Barolo! – Earthy yet elegant with hints of truffles and mixed berries; tannins were firm and lingered for a prolonged nice finish. Was a perfect dinner companion tonight with grilled prime T-bone, mirai corn, and grilled fresh vegetables. This bottle was a gift from an Italian friend. I’m going to buy a case of it!
