March 19, 2024 - Fourth time tasting since November 2021. It was dark and opaque then but lighter ruby and translucent now. Pronounced typical Cayuse style syrah aromas of roast meat but also aromas of sweet red berries and some plums. Medium-full-bodied palate, very round and complex, sweet red and dark fruit flavors with a long toasted oaky aftertaste. Definitely a softer, more elegant style. Perfectly ready, drink over the next couple of years.

February 28, 2024 - Unmistakably Cayuse brand of Rocks funk. Delicious, umami-rich, olive tapenade, bacon fat, tar, pepper and dark fruit. PnP, this seems to be in a great spot now.

February 18, 2024 - Drank over 3 days - best with with fatty leg of lamb. Didn't notice any significant improvement with more air over this time. Rich and intense, dry earth and stones, leather, white pepper, brambleberry fruit.

December 27, 2023 - The No Girls wines are some of the best examples of "terroir" I have experienced. The La Paciencia vineyard in WA is very unique and Elizabeth Bourcier produces extraordinary wines from that vineyard that are so distinctive they can only have come from there. With blackberry, tons of smoked meat, some tar, lot of minerality and an over-the-top version of the "Walla Walla funk". Silky tannins and good acidity holds it together well and it developed more lushness after an hour or so of decanting. That's wonderful, if you happen to love that distinctive No Girls character. I have to admit, I'm on the fence. This is a delicious food wine but almost too much 'character" to drink by itself. We compared it to a '16 Force Majeure Red Mountain Syrah and the FM was considerably more pleasurable to drink without food. The FM, to be fair, is an extraordinary wine in its own right (I'm giving it a 95-96) but the main question here is: do I enjoy the unique La Paciencia character enough to continue to purchase the No Girls. Short answer: yes! But also realizing I'm going to pair this with food every time.

July 11, 2023 - P&P; amazing Syrah with Rocks Funk, black fruits, coffee and dark chocolate flavors. Hints of bacon fat as well. Really enjoyable and drinking perfectly!
