September 27, 2022 - Light ruby. Bright red fruit, and easy to drink now, lovely balance and enough seriousness to keep this very interesting. Very lovely. YFS

October 2, 2021 - Entry level barbaresco from this excellent winery. Visited this house in 2019 with friends where we did a tasting of several of their barbaresco's. Light ruby color. Cherries and some pepper in the nose. The palate is very fruity and tannins are pleasantly present. As always, I might have been impatient, as this can easily be cellared for minimum 5 years or so.

April 12, 2020 - Bright cherry red, pepper and spice initially with black cherry fruit as it opened; some iron and chalk late on the palate; soft, round and thickly textured with tannins already beginning to soften. Good now but enough backbone to wait another few years.

March 21, 2020 - Very enjoyable, but still very young. Lighter body than I was expecting, a bit thin.

November 2, 2019 - Winebar [4 Whites, 8 Reds, & 8 *shared* bottles] from 11/1/19 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): THANK you for allowing me to retaste this, Rick! :)
"Made with grapes coming from our vyds in Neive, Crù San Cristoforo, Currà, & Fausoni. The soil is clayish tuff with some sandy veins." Typically, "vinified in s/s for 20-25 days, then aged for 18 mos in FR oak barriques."
N: Vanilla with hints of tar & earth, POSS something floral? Intensity lurking?
P: LM body; Nice frt rather quickly met by an astringent pucker which fairly seamlessly evolves into a LONG, balanced finish with a tangy/swtness to the dusty tannins. NEEDS through '23, I'm guessing, then drinking through '27? My EXC-/EXC in a style seemingly headed towards the earthy side of the spectrum. 92 pts WA, and 17+ & 17.5/20 Jancis Robinson (2 different reviewers). [This vendor's $45.95 is now $7 < wine-searcher's next lowest.]
Note: Also tasted on 1/5, 3/23, & 8/10/19
