Community Tasting Notes 100

January 8, 2022 - Opened yesterday to do a comparative tasting. Similar notes as previous. But on day two, this is singing. Still fairly muted red fruit on the nose, but beautiful tart cherry on the palate with better integrated tannis. Good acidity. Some tobacco and hints of leather, but the fruit is showing much stronger. Fairly long finish. This has some time left.

January 6, 2022 - Bottle seemed muted, then almost oxidized at opening. Then it improved with 1 hour decanting.
The nose remained odd - smoked meat, little fruit if any. Good acidity, licorice, dark cherries showed up on the palate - nice, young Brunello in that regard. The ending showed some vanilla, and very dusty tannins. Pretty sure I got an off bottle, but it was still drinkable and enjoyable with stewed beef and mashed potatoes. Will try my next one later on.

December 31, 2021 - NYE 2021 (ST): Drank next to the 2003. Decanted for 2 hours. Deeper red in the glass, only slight bricking. Muted nose, but red fruit was there. Soft on the palate, and integrated tannins, but high acidity. It was good, but not as good as the previous bottle I had, and I enjoyed the 2003 more.

December 31, 2021 - Much better on the second day! Will wait another 2-3 years before opening another one

October 9, 2021 - As the song goes.... Getting better all the time.... Definitely improving. Decanted and drank over 2:hrs. Smoothed out black cherry flavors to me. Enjoyed.
