Community Tasting Notes 3

April 26, 2020 - I preferred this to the 2018 Diablo Chardonnay Reserva. Bright, lively, some varietal characteristics.

December 8, 2018 - Easy drinker, plenty of fruit and a touch of spice. But overall nothing memorable. Touch of Smokeyness on the finish with smooth v soft tannins. Quaffer only nothing special

February 3, 2018 - Tasted blind in VV.

Opaque purple color. Fresh, rich and fruit-forward nose with quite straightforward and somewhat sweet-toned aromas of blackberry juice, some plummy fruit, a little bit of some lactic character and a hint of blackcurrant jam. The wine is lively, very youthful and quite straightforward with fresh, fruit-forward flavors of brambly blackberries, some lactic blueberry milkshake tones, a little bit of jammy boysenberries and a hint of ripe plums. The wine is nicely high in acidity but the tannins feel very soft and mellow. The finish is quite soft and fruity with pretty long yet very straightforward flavors of ripe blackberries, some jammy dark fruits and a hint of lactic blueberry milkshake character.

A very predictable, really youthful and quite simple yet still rather drinkable everyday red wine. The wine isn't interesting in any way, but at least the moderately high acidity saves quite a lot. Perhaps a bit pricey for the style at 10,40€.
