February 28, 2024 - Slightly lighteer structure here. still has the classic Brunello notes of earth and leather along with Damson and mulberry. Medium bodied, Robust structure. Quite long and some complexity. Drinking now will develop further.

February 4, 2024 - Colour is absolutely perfect. Would say this is just beginning its transformation and drinking super right now but would have no problems waiting 5-10 years for the next one.

Ethereal wine, as delicate as you would expect for PdS, with great red fruits, touch of balsamic and fresh roses.

    Magnificent.

October 31, 2023 - Winefield's dinner: Was looking forward to this but slightly disappointed. Not very expressive with tight, brooding red fruit. Could see the potential but not as ethereal as I expected from an exalted producer.

May 20, 2023 - Sangiovese study, Volume II (Chicago, IL): This would have been a far better wine than the 2011 if it didn't show so much reduction (that never really disappeared either). It's the same PdS profile of crystalline red fruit which does come off as slightly candied in this case however. More breadth on the palate than the 2011 as well. The tannins here also feel more delicate and refined. I'd love to try this again in a decade, when hopefully the reductive notes may have eased off.

April 29, 2023 - Much more reserved than a bottle five years ago. Roses on the nose followed by black cherries and soft tannins. Remarkable balance and elegance as always, just less effusive. Perhaps more time in the cellar. Try again in 2026.
