Community Tasting Notes 4

December 10, 2022 - Much better than 23 months ago. Strong nose of smoked meat and funk, followed by black fruit and peppery flavors, refined tannins and a forever finish (it’s strongest attribute).

1/13/2021 Note: Disappointing... Lacks freshness (acid), is jammy and has a odd, bitter finish. Maybe at an awkward phase, but it not very appealing right now. 87 pts.

June 11, 2022 - This is a little rough straight out of the bottle, but with an hour of air, and then again the next day, delicious! Cherries, coffee, smoked meat, good acidity, and a silky texture.

June 19, 2019 - Sleight of Hand Tasting Walla Walla (Walla Walla): Cherry, coffee beans, minerals, pepper and stone. Medium to long finish. Concentrated wine and should drink well for a decade.

February 11, 2019 - MNB: Washington (Home (Noe st)): (blind)
    Deep ruby, hint of purple.
Candied blackberry and black cherry with a bit of raisination on the nose.
3g RS, 14.5% alcohol (actually 15.1%), medium acid, medium minus tannins. Plush and riper. 50% new French oak (actually 30%), no whole cluster (actually 15% whole cluster)

    2015 Washington Syrah, $50.

    Estimate:

    3.6 pH
    5.5 TA

Actually: 2016 Sleight of hand cellars $45
Analysis: Pretty close as well. This is a riper style that I'm not so much a fan of.
