March 29, 2024 - The medium yellow color and persistent effervesce suggest this is a young wine but it is not. The lemon custard, apple, quince, and white stone nose was quite attractive.

This wine went up and down in quality while it was open. However, it was still going striong after 3 hours of air with its firm acidity, rich fruit, and very good length.

This was surprisingly good and should stay at this level for 5-10 years.

December 31, 2023 - This is one of those wines that is at its best when first opened. Very energetic and apricot yellow fruity with a mixture of large, then small bubbles. The unusual amount of yellow fruit makes it unique and easy to drink. Later, as the fruit fades, it becomes more lemon citrusy and steely but ultimately less interesting and starts to become work. Unable to finish the bottle.

August 4, 2023 - This was my first of the 2002. Shockingly fresh and young for a 21 year old champagne. Tart green apple and other white orchard fruit, citrus, a little vanilla cream. It felt like it was holding back. I'll drink my 2000's first and let these and the 2004's sit a while, although even the 2000 is evolving at a glacial pace.

July 3, 2023 - July 4th Mondo Event (Atlanta, GA): Not a bad way to start the evening. I much preferred this to the RD Bollinger as it was fresher with higher acidity. Wish I had some in my cellar.
