November 25, 2023 - Have to agree with all other recent notes, this wine was great. Loads of fruit and spices, quite complex, super smooth and well balanced. Seems to be at its peak, but no rush. Drink or continue to hold for the short term.

March 11, 2023 - Every time I open this it gets better. Dark complex fruits on nose, plus spices such as cardamom, oak, vanilla, ripe plum; then after a quick swirl, bright cherry, hint of caramel, dark cocoa, black oak, ever changing complexity. Luxurious sip of soft but solid tannins, perfectly balanced acidity, allows fruit to shine, rich and full bodied, long long finish. Sadly, my last bottle of this vintage.

May 29, 2022 - Plum, blackberry, cassis, oak, vanilla, and more on the nose. Smooth silky tannins balanced with jammy fruitiness on the palate, touch of cinnamon on backend. Full body, and long long long finish. Has aged perfectly, fruit has dropped off yielding to countless interesting complexities.

December 9, 2019 - Beautiful red -violet color. Aromas of prunes and herbs. Upon tasting, bright and fruity tempered with vanilla and oakiness. Finishes with spicy plum, raisin, black pepper and ginger. A great Syrah— an example of why Santa Barbara County wines have become world class.
