August 25, 2020 - Needed a few hours to open up. Floral highlights on nose. Still rather dry aggressive tannins on the palate—but plenty of black and purple fruit to balance. Long finish. Has a bit of bacon mixed with smoke and mild spice. Still a baby, drinkable but best to hold a few years.

June 7, 2020 - Medium weight. Fruit forward. Almost Pinot like. Can hold for years I think. Worked with lamb with rosemary. Really good

May 10, 2020 - PNP. Deep purple. Black cherry blackberry pomegranate. White pepper and spice notes. Tannins present, a bit chewy, strong fruit, kept fresh with good acidity. Pieces are all here, should continue to improve. Drink with decant or hold.

    March 21, 2020 - Medium purple

Nose: crushed raspberry, cassis, cracked black pepper, orange peel.

Mouth: blackberry purée, cassis, melted black licorice, with a light orange peel acidity and accented by a light black pepper note.

Overall: Bit of a bruiser style for field blends / mixed blacks, this is nice but was notably missing really good structure. I wanted to see a bit more lift and energy to the pool of fruits. Maybe in the end a bit of a flatfooted take here, but shows good fruit development overall. Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Carignan, Cinsault, Peloursin and Vaccarese. Drink now though 2028.

    89.

December 12, 2019 - Dark cherry, pomegranate, cranberry, white pepper, roasted meats, cassis, cinnamon, great balance. Drinks well with an hour or two of air, but no hurry, 3-5 years of rest should improve this even more.
