  July 15, 2020 - Soft oak spices, ripe black fruit veering to cassis and a bright new world boldness to the fruit. Very much a. modern styling where the oak is a tad invasive.
  The entry shows some initial herb with red fruits joining the blackcurrant and slight smoke & toasty note.
  It is medium to full-bodied, velvety-textured with a lovely array of redcurrant and blackcurrants showing its southern Stellenbosch credentials. It is not a powerful wine, with more elegance and expressive fruits. Certainly quite oaky at five years old with slightly building chalky-edged tannin but has the sweetness to work quite nicely, leading to a long finish.

  January 14, 2019 - Have to check both one and two times. This is really a Cab Sav and not a Cab Franc?!!! Because I sure get those green pepper tones. Pepper for sure. At first I'm flabbergasted. But it doesn't take long before I'm enjoying this Cab savfranc...
  
  There are some blueberries as well. Vanilla and tobacco. Herbs. Really nice and balanced. 89-92

  September 22, 2018 - South African wine tour - Day two (Cape Town): Ripe blackcurrant and vanilla, a little mint chocolate and a pretty cassis note underpins this. ON the palate the chocolate is more to the fore with the herbaceous minty note. Juicy and fleshy with chalky tannins that are drying but do not dominate. Finishes with cream and vanilla joining the blackcurrant fruit. Rather good in a slightly worked way and shows potential.
