February 5, 2020 - Two visits to Waiheke Island (Easter 2019 and New Year's 2020) (Auckland, NZ): A top wine in the Peacock Sky range from an excellent year. Cabernet Sauvignon 63%, Cabernet Franc 26%, Malbec 11%. A classical ‘cooler’ year Cabernet Sauvignon bouquet of herbs, crème de cassis, blackberries, minerals and a touch of cedar. In the mouth, quite lean and light, a bit austere. Accompanied my excellent pasta dish well. Cedary with fine blackberry and black cherry. A little bell pepper. Refined tannins, refreshing acidity. A decent lunch wine.
