October 21, 2022 - 2022: Top Ten Wines; 1/1/2022-12/31/2023 (Redwood City, CA): This wine continues to delight and surprise, maintaining its depth and seductive powers. Gave 1.5h of air. Deep ruby color. Offers layers and waves of blackberry, red currant, smoke, clay dust, coffee and jalapeño. Velvety and succulent, full-bodied. Red and black fruit, peppery, with a hint of truffle weaving through, leading to a smoky sweet finish. Underpinned by broad polished tannins.
