Color: PALE Ruby,Still some Violet on the very rim looking from underneath
    Legs: Moderate quick
Nose: lots of soil a little Genevieve blossom rustic red berries, Balsa wood dark pomegranate very fine ash really muted black cherry
Palate: More Fine wood and volcanic ash on the mid pallet once again dark pomegranates more muted blackberries and balsamic also plenty of black licorice and some red licorice the balsamic balances it out. Black peppercorns dried plums wild strawberry
Finish: Rich and fine tuned up nice balance once again grainy almost dried fruit The dark red and little black variety and lots of more earth and kind of a sage brush kind of deal

Winery: Feudi di San Gregario Varietal: Aglianico
Area/Appellation: Italy, Campania, Irpinia. Vintage: 2016
Price: $38 Closeout shelf In a Kansas retail liquor store.
Color:opaque dark ruby rim from above. Legs: medium to fast
Nose: bacon fat, dried meats, bramble, underbrush, dried cranberries,
Palate: raspberry, cranberry, leather, smoke, black licorice
Finish: leather, ash, tar, coffee grinds framing dried cranberries and dried raspberries and more black licorice notes.
Comments: A modern style Aglianico that is now showing lots pf secondary characteristics. Interestingly enough Campania had bitter frost and flooding rains in 2016 which reduced yields by as much as 20%.
Pairing Suggestions: oxtail, osso bucco, lamb shank from the local le monde cafe, barbecue ribs from any bbq place with a smoky style,
Score in terms of Vintage: 88
    Score for the Wine: 88
    Value for the Money: Good

December 5, 2020 - DWO - Włochy (On-line): Dark colour, intensive nose a bit smokiness and earthiness. Nice structure, surprisingly nicely drinking. Medium finish with a bit of peppery. Dry.
