Community Tasting Notes 4

October 19, 2009 - This was really nice, pure and clean. A whiff of that typical gamay nose, but with pinot qualities, like a passetoutgrains. Evolves in the glass but ready to go now. You are eating some fresh red cherries and you walk by a flower stand.

October 12, 2007 - A delightful wine. Seems fuller bodied and better structured this time. Violets and strawberry on the nose...with a darker fruit, cherries and strawberry on the taste. Clean finish....with just a hint of complexity. No earthy smells or tastes like in a burgundy. I think this has improved with a little age as is typical for cru Beaujolais. We found it a good sipping and cheese wine. A good value.

August 13, 2007 - Nice Burgundian color and body, with a restrained, but manifest nose of flowers. The palatte showcased an appealing dryness, but otherwise was unexceptional. I probably prefer the generic Bourgognes, which are at about the same price point or within $5.

January 21, 2007 - Took this to Za in Pennington for dinner with Dick and Nancy. Didn't get to pay much attention to the wine and the glasses were so tiny it was not possible to give the wine a fair evaluation. My wife and I did enjoy the wine. Good deep color for a beaujolais, smooth and fruity on the palate. We are going to call it very good for now and take a better look when we drink the next bottle.
