  July 3, 2021 - Just starting to enter into a prime drinking window. Decanted. Deep ruby color. Pronounced aromas and flavors of spicy black currant, ripe blackberry, juicy red plum, brambly red berry, and mulchy, rocky soil. Chewy mouthfeel, as the tannins are still looking for equilibrium, medium plus acidity. Long, solid finish. Very good, can drink now with a decant, or can hold for another 7-9 years.

  May 13, 2021 - Love this wine. Deep purple red color. Red fruit, cherry licorice and jam on the nose. Big red but balanced with relaxed tannin. Not a long finish but pleasant. Tasted with pasta and meatball marinara but still enjoying long after meal is over.

  April 24, 2021 - Currant, blackberry, earth, ripe tannins, this is early for this wine according to the wine maker, in which case this is going to be mind-blowing in a few years because it’s spectacular now. Big cab flavor.

  January 30, 2021 - Von Strasser Winery Tasting: Sori Bricco is a relatively flat oval perched atop Diamond Mountain. It gets more consistent sun and produces juicier berries, lending a more valley floor-like profile to this wine than any other in our Von Strasser lineup. After the DMD (purposely designed to be consumed young), I'd rank this as the second most accessible bottle, though it still needs a good deal of time before it'll drink its best. Sweet bing cherries on the nose, with jammier, darker fruits alongside wood and menthol on the palate. But mostly, tannin and acid. I'd guess best after 2024.
