  January 6, 2022 - One of the best vintages of Varvara. Very elegant and beautiful sweet fruit, spicy notes, some chocolate and coffee, a hint of vanilla, silky tannins and excellent length. This is still young but approchable. Excellent qpr for Bolgheri. - 90 points

  January 22, 2021 - Lovely color, rich deep ruby. On the nose, I get something like blackberry-black currant cobbler armas, deep fruit and baking spices. On the palate, there’s a quick burst of that same black fruit (this time with black raspberry in the mix), then black cherry and bright acidity and moderate tannins. Rather short finish, with the alcohol a bit pronounced. Am thinking pasta with a hearty Bolognese sauce might be a good pairing match.

  December 31, 2020 - Incredible value. Dry, peppery, solid tannins and acid. Well balanced and excellent with puttanesca.
