February 9, 2024 - Tasted after a single aeration at room temperature.
Medium to dark ruby in colour with pleasant aromas of floral, sweet black fruit & cocoa powder. On the palate, medium bodied, somewhat tart, red & black fruit, cherry/boysenberry/blackberry/cassis, quite floral, chocolate, well integrated oak, high acidity, medium soft tannins with a long finish to slightly spicy, sour cherry & cocoa powder. Not particularly complex, but flavour is quite enjoyable!

March 7, 2020 - Everything about this wine seemed wrong, but the summation is sufficiently nice.
Partial very fruity (maceration carbonique), partial too soft; the syrah missed the acidity, but if you think you taste a nice grenache it is worth its 84 points.

August 17, 2019 - $13 Aussie Shiraz 2016 Kangarilla Road Shiraz McLaren Vale. Dull mid-dark garnet; peppery, manzanita, ripe grape nose; fat, grapey; a bit one-dimensional; long hot (14.5 alc.) chewy finish. BBQ, burger and pizza wine.

June 28, 2019 - Menthol, tart cherry, and that’s about it. Minimal complexity. As boring as it is disappointing.

September 26, 2018 - The final wine I've sampled in a series from Kangarilla Road, it's worth pointing out the value for price in the US market—the 2016 Kangarilla Road Shiraz is brimming with aromas of blackberry, mulberry, menthol, and dark chocolate shavings. It's a muscular wine, but there is refinement, too. In the mouth, bright acid offsets finely structured tannins—there is a touch of heat on the back-palate followed by cracked black pepper and tart chokecherry on the finish. Sample
