November 5, 2023 - This is a riper fuller bodied Barolo than is typical. Drinking well with a couple hour decant - not sure this necessarily has the typical austere tannin structure that top tier Barolo's do so not sure how this will evlove long term but good now

October 13, 2023 - Italian odds and sods (N&J's place, Canberra): From Coravin. Slightly darker hued fruit aromas on the nose that the Costi di Rose; plums joins the cherry, also feels like a little more oak; sweet spice here, then tar, slightly earth and a little fennel dried French tarragon notes. Plentiful drying, grippy tannins, that fennel/French tarragon note more prevalent on the palate, slightly non intrusive alcohol warmth and a very slightly dilute quality on the finish.

September 5, 2023 - All tannic, no fruit. This should be cellared for 35 years.

August 8, 2023 - Dark red, vibrant color with light purplish tones. Deeper core, no brick at the rim.
Expressive nose of mixed berry fruit with a hint of vinyl that blows off quickly. No noticeable oak, a touch of menthol. Less of a secondary profile than the 2014 Scavino Monvigliero drank next to it. Nose shuts down shortly after opening and opens back up on Day 2.
On the palate, well balanced - a nice purity of fruit, juicy even, a firm structure, polished tannins, and a smooth medium long finish. A well made and enjoyable wine. Ready to drink but has the structure to keep going. Would love to see if/when its secondary components evolve.1 person found this helpful Comment
