  June 26, 2019 - 2 weeks in Australia with a stopover in Singapore; 6/14/2019-7/1/2019 (Singapore, Sydney, Adelaide, McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills): Tasted at the winery. Reserve Adelaide Hills pinot noir only made in the very best years. On the nose cherry jam and flowers. Soft and velvety on the palate with some grip on the finish, cherry fruit and loamy earth.

  June 26, 2019 - Return to Aus; 6/23/2019-7/5/2019 (Adelaide, South Australia wine regions, Tassie, Yarra, etc.): My first time with this wine from Henschke. This is very fresh and fruity on the nose. Bit more dusty on the palate. In fact, I don't think the palate had quite caught up with the nose - it seemed to be a bit more tight and less expressive than I'd expected. Perhaps needed more time? Or in a dumb phase? A bit more time and there's a bit of musty and earth and herbal. Still not as open as I think it could be. Interesting as it is a wine that is not made every year. When it is made, it's typically taken from the middle blocks of a hill which tend to be in the middle of the harvest.
