February 23, 2022 - I was very happy to find this relatively rare producer on the menu at a recent restaurant visit but was slightly disappointed after finishing the bottle. The previous notes are consistent with my own: medium dark color, nose of olives, tar, tobacco, mostly non-fruit elements. I also couldn’t shake the bell pepper nose which I wasn’t crazy about. Nice firm tannin and a palate that dulled the saline nose a bit gave me a bit of hope. It’s a nice wine, just not a great wine. The winemakers try to make more of a classic Napa cab style but I am not sure the fruit selection is present to make that happen. Still drinking young so I am holding out hope. I am hoping future vintages have a bit more balance.

May 3, 2020 - A delicious cabernet. Cassis, black olive, and a nice salinity make for a wonderful noise, pallet and mouthfeel.
Last bottle consumed 1.5 years ago, and it is even better now. Will drink remaining bottles over the next 2-5 years. Drank during the main course of a delicious 18th birthday celebration. (Pilcrow: the mark at the end of a paragraph, seemed a fitting choice) -

October 5, 2018 - Everything we heard about--blackberry and violets and stony salinity makes it feel like you are drinking blackberry juice from a volcanic stone mug. The finish is very long, with layers building on layers. This was great now, but we will stick our other bottles in the cellar for 2-4 years. Can't wait to try it then!
