Community Tasting Notes 4

November 22, 2019 - Less harsh and smoky than many a prior bottle of Baco Noir. Plum, some smoke, nice mid-weight palate, and served as a nice alternative to a fruit-forward Syrah.

November 2, 2019 - Very musty on the nose. Medium-bodied with decent smoke and blueberry flavors and strong overtones of autumn leaves and earth.

August 4, 2019 - Nose of black cherry and a hint of . Flavour is also black cherry. Not at all complex, but tasty. Puckers the mouth slightly and has good length.

    Cork. 13% alc.
A dark, inky violet colour. So dark it almost stains the glass. Gives mint, cherry and blackberry on the nose. One expects the palate to be fully charged. But it’s not! It’s really only light-medium bodied. It’s fruity, minty, a little sweet (like Ribena), smoky, cedary. There’s medium acid and very low tannin structure.
Not surprisingly, no one could identify the variety. In fact, it was a first for all of us.
