February 9, 2024 - Tasted after 1 hour of air. Dark garnet color. Not much fading at the rim. Smoked bacon fat on the nose. Grippy tannins. Sweet blackberry fruit. Balanced by firm acidity. Black pepper. This is much better than my last bottle.

November 30, 2023 - Tasted after 45 minutes. Dark garnet color. Opaque. Firm tannins. Not much fruit here. Hollow mid palate and no lift. Finish fades quickly. This is quite an interesting wine. I'm not sure I have ever had a huge tannic wine that tasted completely flat. Maybe this is just tight and needs several days to open. Who knows.

September 23, 2020 - This wine comes from a place on the Rhone that is about the same distance to Beaujolais as it is to Cornas; it shows. If in a blind taste test, I would probably say this was a great cru Beaujolais from a warm year. Red fruit and raspberries on the palate and nose, along with fine tannins, and a clean gentle close.

November 13, 2019 - Very light and floral nose. Nice acid but very thin. I believe that it's either very young vines or not enough fruit dropped.

    December 8, 2018 - tasted blind.
opaque violet. Nose dark fruited, black cherries, slight feral note. Palate savory with some wildness, transparent dark fruits -- a good mix of fruity depth and lightness. Not the most profound but good typicity and enjoyable. 90 pts
