March 23, 2024 - Opened, poured into a decanter and tasted.
Enjoyed later with food (chicken and eggplabt in a tomato sauce with paparedelle, in case you were wondering).
    Gabriel Glas stem.
Incredible nose of flowers - violet and roses- and fresh ripe berries. Touch of tobacco and mint/menthol. Wisp of smoke
Ad it sees more time open, it shows a dark fruit profile with tobacco and beef. Sadly, that glorious floral note is no longer noticeable.
first taste shows a deeply concentrated wine with layers of flavor. Dark fruits, some tobacco and beef, soy, with a lovely fresh licorice and menthol note on the back end. Bright acidity that gives the wine lift.
    Outstanding wine.
Still unfurling and likely to con tinue improving with age.

March 3, 2024 - I really like this wine. In a great spot. Fruit profile is prominent wrapped in soft tannins and a long finish. Very elegant; great structure. Massimo @ Di Costanzo is crushing it!

February 23, 2024 - This is the second bottle of the vintage I've opened, with consistent notes. The nose is inviting with hints of dark fruit and baking spice. And that's the apex for this wine. On the palate there is ample tannin and grip that quickly falls away into a hollow, green-tinged affair that begs for food. I would not drink this on its own. I had hoped the first bottle experience was an outlier last year, but tonight affirms the unfortunate miss on this one.

March 27, 2023 - Medium body, fruit forward. Can drink now or wait a year or two.

February 17, 2023 - Truth is, there is very little fruit here that must be coaxed with an hour or two or air. It doesn't drink like a Napa Valley wine. The nose is Napa but the palate is far more Bordeaux than California. Better with food than on its own. At MOST the tannin, earth and minerals lead the way with fruit notes and elements mingling intermittently. It's earth forward. There's a place for it in the cellar but if you're looking for a typical Napa wine, this is not it. If you're looking for a balanced fruit-earth wine, this one leans greatly to the earth and tannin. It's BdxNapa.
