  September 22, 2018 - This GSM blend is pretty much everything you can ask for in a CDR named-village (Cairanne, in this case) red under $20 (in Ontario), which isn't at all surprising given that it comes from the excellent house of Pierre Amadieu, which is so good at capturing the variations and nuances of the southern Rhône. It's sour cherry that bursts out of the bottle, but it's soon joined by darker berry fruit, cured and roasted meat, minerals, garrigue / herbs, and mild black pepper, all of which speak to the region, and specifically to Cairanne's limestone terroir. There isn't great complexity or depth, but the benchmark notes combined with enlivening acidity and solid tannic structure achieve a certain balanced, rustic elegance.

  July 15, 2018 - A blend of 60% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre, and 15% Syrah raised completely in stainless steel tanks. Has enticing aromas of smoke, dark berry, and spice with savoury elements and hints of pepper, garrigue, and forest floor. It's medium-bodied with fine purity of fruit - lavender, pepper, dark berry/cherry, and spice flavours. Nicely textured with juicy, vibrant acids and smooth, refined tannins. Some mineral and smoky notes arrive on the long blackberry-pepper finish. Lovely wine to enjoy over the next 3-4 years.
