January 28, 2024 - The one with Luca Roagna (Teochew Paradise): Old school Nebbiolo expression that puts a smile on your face. While youthful, this was showing lovely with dark red cherries, cloves, roses and smoke on the opening with silky red fruit, sage, concentration and balance on the palate. So etheral yet you just know there is further upside from here on forth - this is more than capable of going the distance.

January 28, 2024 - Pronounced nose intensity with notes of mushroom, truffle, red fruits, toast, spices. Medium+ acidity and high tannin. Tannin is fine and not harsh. Still youthful. Very aromatic.

February 2, 2019 - 2014 Barolo at Festa dal Barolo (Del Posto, NYC): 2014 vintage tasting at 2019 Festa dal Barolo

A fantastic nose. Roses, olive, savory undertones. More red frutied nebbiolo with a savory slant. Powerful and deep with great sap and density, expansive on the palate with a richness coupled with freshness and lift. Everything comes together beautifully here. This is iron fist in a velvet glove stuff. Outstanding.

February 2, 2019 - La Festa Barolo (NYC): Less detailed note as I was fading (and perhaps I need to revisit and re-score). Struck me as really great juice. Leans sweet with quite dark red fruit, rushed rock, minerality -- in a clear, precise fashion. Definitely a wine that is less heavy, yet packs quite the punch. Fine, polished tannin. Maybe this wine is lacking a special nuance today, is not as elegant as the Rinaldi or Cogno, and leans sweet -- but it was close behind in enjoyment. Since this was in a flight of '14s I nearly forget that this is a '13 and yet I was able to find it relatively accessible for what should be baby.

November 1, 2018 - Pira i landsbyen Castiglione Falletto, +/- 65-75 år gamle stokker.

Nydelig vin.
