May 8, 2022 - Ganz ok, teile die Meinung, dass Schloß Johannisberg überbewertet ist, aber dieser Wein ist ok, schlank, mineralisch, leichte Petrolnote

December 22, 2019 - Not a fan of Schloss Johannisberg; my perception for quite some time has been that they are a highly effective marketing and sales machine that excels at developing and exploiting the brand's international standing, but not quite so good at, well, making wine.

Nevertheless, being an optimist I was ready to throw all my preconceptions in the bin and wholly enjoy this one. The scent was quite promising - although unusual - with punch, however in the mouth this was so empty that I found it hard to believe and thus took a number of more sips. It didn't help.

So this is pretty basic quality, no real negatives but nothing at all that would make one want to drink it either. This is the quality one gets from the mid-level Rheingau producers for 7-8 EUR and from the unknown ones for 4-5; I don't even want to know what this gelblack cost.

May 14, 2019 - Tasted at lunch with Kroemers on the banks of the River Rhine:
Pretty color, well balanced, minerally tasting wine. A cut above some of the rather sour and simple stuff tasted at the various "Strausswirtschaften"
Everybody in the group liked it.

April 21, 2019 - Color: Light to medium yellow: Nose: Yellow fruit, floral. Mouth: Good expressiveness. A bit short. Fresh and mineral. Fairly simple.

January 5, 2019 - Sucre résiduel, manque de vivacité, mais de beaux arômes.
    Pas un super Q/P*$$
