    May 31, 2021 - Consumed from a Josephinenhütte No. 1 glass.

Sponti and a little petrol on the nose. Mostly greengage, fresh herbs, and whispers of white peach and florals on the nose and palate. Creamy in texture yet lighter and more racy than most young Mosel auslesen, a true drinking auslese. The vibrant acidity and sugar are already well-integrated, but like many rieslings opened during the "muted phase" this needs plenty of time to show its potential.

    October 27, 2019 - Glass: Zalto Universal
Popped and poured. Clear, pale lemon-green color, almost crystal clear. Clean, medium- intense, youthful and closed nose with some SO2, meadow herbs, green apple, yellow stone fruit.
Sweetness is perfectly balanced by the laser like, high acidity. Only 7% abv. Medium- body. Lots of citrus fruit, herbs, hints of honey, liquid stones. On the palate a bit more creamy/thicker than a regular Kabinett, but other wineries would sell this as a top notch Kabinett. Lots of tension and vibrant energy, phenolic and extract. Medium+ finish, intense white and green fruit, some apple. Still too young, needs a few more years. If you like elegant lean Auslese, this is certainly your wine! 92+++

March 24, 2019 - Consistent with Seth’s note (the first one). I thought this was great—the lush/sweet aromas balanced by electric acidity and a light chrystalline palate presence.

February 10, 2019 - Riesling Freaks lazy afternoon lunch (Chez Hugo - Baltimore): Youthful and energetic nose displaying primary white fruit, pear, white peach, key lime pie, spicy spices and limestone. Very precise, pure and energetic palate. This is really delicious.

December 2, 2018 - Absolutely love this wine. Light and yet sweet, but just the right amount. Honeysuckle, apricot, lime, floral, other citrus for days. Bright acidity to balance out the sweetness. Far too easy to drink....

November 22, 2018 - Excellent. This wasn't cooled down as much as I like or as much as the previous bottle. It showed more fruit and less cut, as expected. It is really luscious with amazing depth and the supporting acid gives it another dimension as well.

November 4, 2018 - Got these, stuck one in the freezer for 20 min and then PnPed. Now open for about 20 minutes. The nose on this is opening and just so damn beautiful: potent, light, racy, very complex. Flavors of honey, herbs, lime, kaffir lime, white flowers, honeysuckle, tangerine, curry? sugar cookies? Definitely some brothy concentration. Delicious on the palate - not the raciest Riesling I've had, and maybe lacking a bit more zing than I'd prefer but there is solid acidity and there is so much else going on that this is still spectacular. Orchard fruits, lime, sugar candy, herbs, honey. Gossamer, crystalline and pure. The finish is lipsmacking and wide with lime, herbs, honey. The Auslese was the best of the amazing 16's and this wine is a worthy successor. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17.5/20.
