December 26, 2023 - Decanted 90 minutes. Notes of black raspberry, cassis, damp earth and game. Nicely balanced with well integrated tannins and long finish. Paired with baby back ribs.

    October 25, 2023 - Nice balance

June 16, 2023 - Really interesting blend from Saxum, more Syrah than Grenache. Hides the octane really well, no heat just smooth and soft tannins. Long pleasant finish with boysenberry notes.

May 2, 2023 - Bright red cherry and blueberries. A little floral accent, and high alcohol, with a little tannic and acidic edge. Complex, bright but balanced, and very enjoyable!

April 10, 2023 - After giving San Roman my WOTY designation only last week, this wine stunned us over Easter weekend. Booming nose of perfumed violet and lilac, evoking the spring air outside. The flavors were pronounced and reminiscent of a high-end NapaCab – blueberry pie filling, black tea leaves, clove – a pleasure to drink. Might show less octane that some other Saxums (and maybe that is why this isn’t rated as high by CT or the professionals), but it's a great find for people who like a more reserved style.
