April 19, 2020 - Vinturied into decant, consumed over several hours.
First time sampling this producers wine, a well rounded effort, blue fruit thru and thru..plush
with a slightly sweeter slant, that’s all that held this back IMO.
No sign of age.
Drink now thru 2024/6 -

June 16, 2019 - Double decant. A year later this wine remains very masculine and closed up. Some nice savory notes but almost no fruit flavors. I like it and it’s a good value that may come out of its shell one day.. This is my last bottle.

November 27, 2018 - Popped and poured, no food pairing. Very savory syrah, with black olive, pepper and smoke. Black fruit in there as well. For $15 this is a serious QPR. Drink now - 2024.

July 8, 2018 - Almost black. Double decant through menu decanter. Superb mouthfeel! Not a lot of fruit here but dark fruits are present, cedar, with baking spice and savory notes. Masculine. Short finish. Seems a bit overrated here on CT. Quality fruit, talented wine maker. Nice value from full pull. Agree that it’s a value priced k vintners Royal city.
Update:
Pnp and royal slope shows with more of a rocks kind of funk coming through here.. still not my favorite but I would say this wine is better without a decant. It’s unique but it’s not for everyone.1 person found this helpful Comment -
