August 9, 2023 - Seemed a bit closed down and not as expressive as expected. Flavors of cherries, black tea, licorice and sweet raspberry.

August 11, 2018 - Pinot Noirs (CA [4], OR, & S. Africa) (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): Cf. the CellarTracker Article link [lower lft] to get specific info for this vintage, including acclaim.
N: Berries, flowers, poss smoke; Intensity lurking?
P: Med body; RNDISH entry with ALMOST swtish frt BEAUTIFULLY counterbalanced by acidity as it fairly seamlessly morphs into quite a LONG, BALANCED finish with a tangy/swtness to the very, VERY fine tannins. Approachable now with food, this gem DESERVES through '19, then drinking for 3-4 yrs more. My EXC-/EXC, arguably more *if* one takes into consideration the QPR of this vendor's $29.95, which is an ASTOUNDING $15 < its closest wine-searcher competitor!1 person found this helpful Comment -

≈1 hr decant into a plastic, cylindrical pitcher which was closed. The wine was then returned to its bottle & transported to a restaurant, where it was 1st tasted ≈30 min after having been returned to its bottle. Private Preserve after Day 1
N: Ripe, cherry cola, with plums showing up on Day 2
P: Med body; NICE frt braced by an astringent PUCKER which makes itself known (but NOT obnoxiously so) into & through the LONG, tangy, very, VERY slightly bitterish finish with a swtness to the very, VERY fine tannins. // Day 2: Held up nicely, working well with the night's revisited Chx Enchiladas (COSTCO MRE), Refried Beans, & Spanish Rice. Nonetheless, in retrospect I wish I had double decanted it Day 1, my not having done so very likely causing my VG+/EXC- to be artificially low. :( Ideally I'd say this DESERVES cellaring into early '20, then drinking through '22, QUITE poss longer. [As of late Apr '20, wine-searcher still show 4 sources @ $38-$55].
